Fairly Significant Changes to BerkeleyVersion.com

By far the most requested pages within BerkeleyVersion.com have been the Children’s Prayers, this being a complete printing on-line of Gerrit Verkuyl’s original book titled Children’s Devotions, published in 1917. Also written by him is the Berkeley Version of the New Testament, published in 1945, from which our Bible study (Part I and Part II) of the Gospel of John are drawn. Hendrickson Publishing gave us permission to print this Gospel and to disseminate CD recordings made in the year 2003 of this Gospel, in Israel. Over 7,000 of these have been distributed free over time, but now further distribution is impossible due to increased mailing costs and the unfortunate situation where even a nice product, if offered free, is not deemed worth paying for—even a small portion of the cost—by those 99.95% who wish to pay nothing. Although CDs are not available any longer, the associated written word materials as viewed on-line are still available as before.

We have also dropped many former pages from this site in order to streamline it and narrow its focus. Word searches that directed you the viewer to the URLs below are not available any longer. You have been directed within this site to this page for the explanation.

For you who have the Gospel of John “Beloved Disciple” CDs, please continue to enjoy them and, whenever it is possible, share these with your friends and classmates. My suggestion for you who may be saddened at the loss of so much of this site’s former content and giveaway offers is that if and when you locate a religious site that does you good, you contribute what you can—even if little—to help it stay viable and contributing on into the future.

God loves you and will continue helping your learning about Him.
