PRAYER FOR THE LOST SOULLord, You care about each of us.  There is not one of us whose name You do not know.  You have given every one of us an opportunity to get to know Your son Jesus. Yet, for some of us it is hard to believe—or other things seem more important in this world.  Slow us down.  Give to each of us a feeling of the necessity to know You, to learn from You, to be saved by You.  But You saved us long ago, on the Cross of Calvary, when Jesus bore the sin of all mankind and asked You to forgive all sinners because of what He was sacrificing on the cross: His fine life, and the blood that carried the power of atonement for our sin(s).  It is a good thing “to believe”; this removes our guilt, gives us confidence for the rest of our lives, and gives us assurance that our prayers for others are being heard perfectly by You.  “Both Jews and Greeks are all under Sin’s power, as it is written: 'There is none righteous; not even one.  No one has understanding; no one is a searcher after God.  All have strayed aside; they have become utterly useless.  There is none doing right, not even one.'”  This means me.  This means the one that I pray for: _____(Name of the lost soul)______.

Take the hard heart of ____________ and soften it, Lord.  Let them understand the Gospel and believe.  May I so use my time as to bring this person’s name again before You in prayer, and may the answer to prayer be the knowledge I have that, one day, they know You as I know You.  Thank You for my salvation.  I honor You with this request to see to it that another is being saved.  I give You thanks and praise.  Oh, God, let my eyes see this person in heaven with me when I am there sharing Your eternity!  There is no end to Your power; "Your arm is not shortened, that it cannot save!"  With You, there is no respect of one person over another; none has the advantage.  You will that all shall come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.  “God, our Savior, wants all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.”  “The Lord is not slow concerning His promises—however He does have patience, not willing is He that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

May my life be so lived that it is an example of goodness and of faith showed so that this one I pray for may not feel in it a detraction from believing in You.  I want that person to have the happiness I have in my salvation.  Again, I thank You for my salvation.  I ask this all in the name of "Jesus Christ", that His blood may be applied afresh and anew to the sins of this person I’ve prayed for and that salvation will belong, at last, to _____________ , as well.  Amen.

Dear Viewer: If ever doubts come, you can sing or say this last verse of Psalm 66: Blessed be God, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me!
